AF447 tragedy back in spotlight after major appeals court decision
A very important judgment has been passed by the Paris Appeals Court, whereby both Air France and Airbus have been declared guilty of criminal manslaughter following the tragic crash of flight AF447 in the year 2009 that led to the death of 228 people. The cause of this accident was an amalgamation of technical faults, such as frozen pitot tubes (used for measuring airspeed) together with the inability of the pilots to manage the aerodynamic stall.
